Catching up earlier today with a couple of new scouts who have been out of town. We had a zoom session earlier this week with our older scouts.
We continue to adapt to the current situation and continue to be invested in the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of our scouts.

This year, #troop400hsv sent a smaller contingent to summer camp.
For two of the scouts, it was their last summer camp as youth. For the other one, it was his first.
We are glad they all had a great and fun experience at the camp.
We also like to thank our volunteers and the @gacbsa for putting safeguards to ensure that the safety and health of our scouts remains a priority. (at Camp Comer Scout Reservation)

We are grateful to the America’s Boating Club of North Alabama for taking the time out of their schedule to teach our Scouts about the various parts of a boat and how to position themselves inside a boat (both Boy Scout requirements).
Our scouts also had a good time fishing or feeding the fish worms (depends on who you ask…) (at Madison County Lake)

Though our community cleanup activity scheduled for last Saturday was cancelled due to the threat of severe weather, we were able to zoom in with our scouts over the weekend and used the circumstance as a learning opportunity to teach our scouts about hazardous weather.

Today, our Chaplain Aide volunteered with CASA of Madison County to build a wheelchair ramp for a resident in his Terry Heights community!
Also, one of our new scouts earned himself his Totin’ Chip award which gives him the right to own and use a knife and other sharp tools! Special thanks to Huntsville Scout Shop for the card!

Troop 400 continues to adapt to the current climate.
Yesterday we had Scoutmaster conferences via Zoom with several of our scouts. It was great to see all our scouts doing well as they cope with the unusual conditions this pandemic has caused. (at ZOOM)
